Mobile Energy Storage Power System Successfully Commissioned in Oil and Gas Fields, Providing Green Energy Solution for Power-Access-Deficient Areas
Recently, a comprehensive mobile energy storage power system, developed with the participation of Huiyao Intelligent, was successfully deployed and put into operation at a drilling site in the Changqing Oilfield. Over a full 25day drilling cycle, the system entirely relied on mobile energy storage power products instead of traditional diesel generators. The system operated stably and reliably, delivering a total of 300,000 kWh of clean electricity for wellhead drilling operations.

Solving the Power Supply Challenge in Remote Well Sites
Oil and gas drilling sites are often located in remote mountainous areas where grid expansion has long faced the dual bottlenecks of “high construction difficulty and large upfront investment.” Moreover, the long period required for line installation severely impacts drilling schedules and efficiency. For years, diesel generators have been the predominant power source for oil and gas field operations, leading to high carbon emissions, high fuel costs, and poor power supply stability.
The newly commissioned mobile energy storage power system adopts a modular integrated design that combines energy storage batteries and an intelligent control system. It features “rapid deployment, flexible relocation, and plugandplay” operation. The system can move with the drilling crew, eliminating the need for fixed grid infrastructure and greatly shortening project preparation time — truly achieving “power that follows the well.” This provides a replicable and scalable green energy solution for areas with weak grid coverage or no grid access.
Key Technical Innovations
The system has achieved multiple technical breakthroughs: it operates reliably across a wide temperature range from -20°C to 50°C, adapting to harsh environments including extreme cold, high heat, and dusty conditions. Critical components are designed with 100% redundancy, allowing battery compartments to be replaced without power interruption, ensuring 24/7 uninterrupted power supply. The system features an earthquakeresistant design to meet transportation and installation requirements on complex roads. Energy modules can be flexibly configured according to the electrical load, reducing equipment redundancy and cutting operation and maintenance costs by more than 30%.

Equipment + Operation Model Delivers Mutual Benefits
This project pioneered an “equipment + operation” cooperation model, effectively reducing the initial investment burden for users. According to estimates, applying this system to a single well can reduce annual diesel consumption by over 100 tonnes, significantly lowering carbon emissions while fully complying with the policy requirement that clean energy substitution rates for new oil and gas fields shall not be less than 30%.

The successful commercial deployment of this mobile energy storage product opens up an innovative approach to power supply for drilling and fracturing operations in China’s oil and gas fields. It also provides a lowcarbon transformation model for outdoor operating scenarios such as oil fields and coal mines. In the future, this model is expected to be promoted and applied across more energy operation scenarios, contributing to the green and sustainable development of the energy engineering industry.
